The Jean Monnet Center of Excellence, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki “European Constitution and Religion” and the “Aristovoulos Manesis” Group,
under the auspices of the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki co-organized a conference on “Religious freedom, church and Constitution: in the context of constitutional revision”, in Thessaloniki on March 30, 2019. Professor Evangelia Koutoupa, Member of the Board addressed the event. and Director of the Department of Public Law and Political Science of the Law School of AUTh, as a Representative of the Dean of the Law School of AUTh. The event was coordinated by the President of the Council of State, Aikaterini Sakellaropoulou.

The Vice President Of the Council of State, Christos Rammos, referred to the issue of religious diversity in Europe and the “forgotten universality of citizenship”.

This was followed by the presentation of the Associate Professor of AUTh and academic coordinator of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence AUTh, Lina Papadopoulou, entitled “Religious freedom in Greece in the shadow of the prevailing religion.”

Finally, Professor EKPA, George Sotirelis, made a presentation entitled “Another missed opportunity for the constitutional review of State-Church relations?” A discussion followed here
